It's not something that's just observed online.

Across the US, town, cities and counties are working to organize missing person's

days and events that serve the missing, the unidentified, and families who are still searching.

Though these organized events are valuable resources, we found that families are often

not aware of their existence, even though there is outreach from victim services, post

online and other media.

Some of that lack of communication may come because some missing have not been formally

reported, or because of issues like change of address, phone numbers, case agent or

more.

When we discussed the new missing person campaign for Raymond Green just a few months

ago, it was made obvious that even with national media coverage and social media posting,

people are still missed.

That's why it's so vital to do the following.

Check in your local community and find out if there's an organized missing person's

day event that's held.

It may be annually or even more often, so that you can share that information on social

media and with friends and family.

These events vary a lot from place to place, but are now a major resource for family and

friends who want to discuss new or longstanding cases.
