Welcome. I'm Connor Beaton, and on this midweek mini episode, we are going to talk about what to do

0:07.7

with our broken parts. Now, this initially might sound melodramatic, and I thought about creating a

0:16.1

different title for it, but sometimes we just need to be direct.

0:28.9

And I think, you know, the reality is that all of us on some level can resonate and understand this concept of having broken parts.

0:32.5

For some of us, it might be in the current moment, you know, somewhere in our life right now, we might feel

0:39.7

like there something is broken, either within us or within a relationship, or that something

1:42.4

with gold, with liquid gold. And Kinsugi is a really interesting

1:50.0

process because it started, it's basically a form of golden repair in many ways. It's actually

1:57.1

what it translates to. And there's some beautiful artwork. So if you have a chance,

2:04.5

definitely go and look this up online and see some of the artwork.

2:07.3

You might want to have a piece of your own. But in Japanese art, they repair broken pottery by mending the areas of the breakage with lacquer,

2:16.6

dusted, or mixed powdered gold, sometimes silver or platinum.

2:22.3

And as a philosophy, this is the important part.
