Every day this week, you've discovered some aspect to take part in this ritual,

which is also known as Shinrin Yoku.

It was developed in Japan in the 1980s.

Forest bathing has to do with spending time in forests, especially where there are tall, old trees, that release

photon sites in the air. And when you exhale, your oxygen helps plants and trees with the photosynthesis process.

So it's a beautiful symbiotic relationship with the forest.

But if you don't necessarily live near a forest, you can still receive benefits from walking in your local area.

If you live in a city or a suburb, or you live near the beach or maybe you live near the desert,

you can still receive benefits when you walk consciously, engaging your senses.

And this becomes a beautiful way to calm your mind and body and to connect with the environment
