Is there a more overrated front office executive in all of sports than John Elway?

I mean John Elway's career as a general manager has been a complete and utter joke.

John Elway should be a laughing stock and yet he's perceived as one of the better

NFL general managers. This is why you cannot trust what sports media outlets

are telling you about front office personnel or coaches. They have no idea what they're talking about. Look at John

Elway's track record for draft picks. I mean this is what's important. You have to

win the draft. Either you approach the draft like the Patriots and you get two for ones in the future and then you become the iron bank for draft picks, always forcing your competitors to pay a premium to trade with you,

always compiling value in the future that you can then cash in at any moment to acquire a Brandon

cooks. You either approach the draft like the Patriots or

you use the draft to acquire the best available talents at the right positions in any given round. And so few teams do this well.

Some teams like the Houston Texans are particularly bad at the draft, but it's hard to find a team that's worse than the Denver Broncos.

Look at their drafts the last five years.
