It's time for MLB playoffs to start

And in a way that we've never really seen before.

There's going to be 16 teams in this year's field.

And as we all know from years past,

once you get into October,

it's anyone's guess who's going to be crowned World Series champion at the end. There's a few young,

exciting teams in this year's pack, notably the Blue Jays and the Padres. It should be some really,

really exciting baseball for the next month or so. And that's the end of my plug for watching Major

League Baseball. If you're here listening to the show,

you probably already know all of that. So anyway, today's show is the first of a three-part series

on agents in baseball. They've been around for over 50 years, and most people outside of the

baseball family don't have any real idea what they do. I'm going to talk to three different

agents who have all been around for a long time, but have very unique experiences in player

agent representation. Today's guest is someone that I know very well, my agent for the last eight

years, Mike Moy of the Moy Sports Agency in Atlanta. We talk about how we got into the business,

the art of negotiating with baseball jams,

and the unique challenges of representing Latin players

who make up roughly a third of the player population in Major League Baseball.
