So were you surprised that Mike Johnson was chosen to be Speaker of the House that he actually got the votes after two Republicans switched their votes at the last second of the first round and he got through?

So we got into this. The vote actually happened after we got off the air on Friday. And so we were talking about the lead up to this.

I think this should be concerning to every single American.

And Spanglish and I had spirited back and forth on this.

Jerry and I went back on fourth because Jerry said, well, well, people want Johnson to be in there because Trump wants Johnson and we should give Trump what he wants.

And I responded to that by saying, but people voted for change in this country.

They voted to fix inflation.

They voted to fix the border.

They voted to rectify these issues that Mike Johnson and the Republicans, the power

structure of the Republicans, have been in charge of for the past two years as the House of Representatives.

They control the money. And they've done nothing, which is it fits the pattern and the blueprint for how the Republicans have governed since the late 90s, which is to make all these promises, don't deliver on them, get voted out of office, and then say,

well, we've learned our lesson, put us back in, we'll do it again. I don't think people voted

for the same thing again, and that's what, there's nothing in Mike Johnson's background or his

leadership style or anything that would show you he would be much different, certainly on the key

issues like inflation or government spending, then he's been

before.

So I'd be curious where you're at on this, because Jerry said, well, people voted for Trump,

give Trump whatever he wants.

I say people voted for change and you're electing the status quo that'll keep doing the

same stuff.

Yeah, I feel like I'm kind of where Jerry was because Donald Trump endorsed him and said, no, this is our guy.
