Justin Trudeau of Canada announced that he intends to resign as the leader of Canada's ruling party.

He's going to step down as prime minister.

He says once a new leader of the Liberal Party is in place, however, that may not actually happen because by all accounts, they're going to select a conservative leader.

But his departure comes amid lots of pressure for him to step aside

before the upcoming election. And this, a lot of it has to do with how he's being bullied around

by Donald Trump, or some people would say not being bullied around, but being pressured by

Donald Trump.

You know, Trump saying that he wants to make Canada the 51st state.

So will it be a conservative leader in Canada or will they elect another liberal person?

Casey, isn't the broader question, how do people like this get elected?

Like, do we ever ask ourselves in our society?

And we can look to Canada, obviously, and this will be big news for a while, that it's a huge worldwide story that he's leaving. But look at here in America, the similar people to Trudeau,

just look here in the city of Indianapolis and Joe Hogsett. Do we ever actually stop and ask ourselves, how do people

like this convince the public at large or convince their fellow electors in some cases at large that

they're the best? Why do we have such a crisis of leadership in our country, in our state, in our

city around the world? Why do people not demand better?

It's a good question. You could, in the case of Indianapolis, perhaps there's two things.

One apathy, the second one, name recognition, right? People just, okay, good enough. I'll just

select him. That's who I know. That's who I'm familiar with, regardless of the

results. In Trudeau's case, he's been a leader for 11 years in his party. He's been prime

minister in the country for nine. So could it be the same situation? Well, that's the broader

conversation. It's a crisis of leadership around the world. And look, Canada is a different animal than America. And they obviously have a longstanding history of having a more liberal society with far more liberal policies than we tend to have.
