Hello and welcome to the Thursday October 18th, 2018 edition of Tesla Daily Unofficial Tesla Podcast. My name is Rob Maurer and today we are talking about the unexpectedly just released mid-range model 3.

Here is what we know so far, the stated range that Tesla gives for the mid-range model 3 is 260 miles,

top speed 125 miles per hour, and 0 to 60 of 5.6 seconds,

with a starting price of $45,000 U.S. dollars.

That is $4,000 cheaper than the previous cheapest Tesla,

which was the Single Motor Long Range Model 3,

at $49,000 US dollars.

With the changes today, that vehicle is no longer being sold by Tesla.

The cheapest long-range battery version is the dual motor all-wheel drive which is now $55,000 versus $56,000 previously.

The price of the performance model 3 remains unchanged at $64,000, but the top speed is now being shown as 3.3 seconds versus 3.5 seconds previously.

Delivery estimates at least for me in the United States, which I would assume would be consistent across the United States,

are six to ten weeks for the new mid-range model three, four to eight weeks, for dual motor

all-wheel drive long-range model three three and four to eight weeks as well for the

performance model three. So six to ten weeks for the mid-range model three means that

orders that are placed today should receive delivery in Q4 making them eligible for the full

federal US tax credit. We are only about 10 and a half weeks away from the end of the

year though so I would suggest that if you want to receive a

mid-range model three and you want to get that full tax credit on it, you should probably

be placing your order today if at all possible or at the latest in the next few days.

This is a new product for Tesla.

They can estimate demand as best they can, but those estimates are unlikely to be perfect.

So based on the orders that they receive, they can update that estimated delivery time
