Welcome to you, whoever you are that just clicked play and has decided to listen.

I'm glad to be with you.

And I'm coming to you from the backyard, which only means something to returning listeners.

I'm not in my usual perch in the attic. I came down into the backyard to do this again.

Not because it's too hot though like last time. It's perfectly pleasant out here and it's very nice up in the attic today.

So it's not because of the weather that I'm down here. Really there's two reasons why I'm back out in the backyard this week.

First is totally practical.

I'm taking my whole family to this big event.

My cousin's getting married, and my daughters never really have had any family events on my side.

If you listen to my conversation with my dad a few weeks ago, I did mention that.

I don't have a lot of connections with my extended family and my cousin's getting married.

So we're going to this big wedding in Long Island and we have to leave

in a few hours and there's no way I'm going to be able to do this tomorrow when I normally would

so it has to happen now so it's just a practical matter that it has to happen now and I'm taking care

of that by combining the recording of the intro with my usual morning routine of being out

here in the backyard and having my cup of coffee. And you see, it's very fitting for this week's

episode because coming down here first thing in the morning when I wake up, I come out,

I bring my couple coffee into the backyard and I sit out here.

This is the time where I commune with God.
