In the course of last week, an American public that opposed the war in Iran from the jump

and that poll show has only grown more displeased by that war since then, was told on Tuesday by Secretary of State Marco Rubio from

the White House podium no less that the war that the public doesn't like very much is in fact

over was over done kaput finished no more war on Wednesday, by President Trump, that not only was

the war over in our collective rearview mirror, but that America had clearly won it.

Then, on Thursday, in the wake of Iran, launching multiple missiles and drone strikes

at U.S. warships transiting the Strait of Hormuz,

and the U.S. hitting back with missiles of its own at the Iranian military sites responsible

for the first attacks, Trump insisted that the volleys of airborne armaments were merely, quote,

love taps, love taps made necessary by the fact that Iran had, quote,

trifled with us, trifled with us, and that the ceasefire between the countries was intact,

even though, quote, we blew them away. Okay.

So if those messages strike you as confusing, just put it mildly,

and you're struggling to understand what the hell is going on in this war,

I am tempted at first to say,
