It has been a little while since we did a combination tour to horizon of and deep dive into the U.S. domestic political scene.

And it's been even longer since we last had A-List friend of the pod, Dan Pfeiffer, on the show.

So with Donald Trump, off in Beijing, having the red carpet literally rolled out for him

in the same way that he rolled out the red carpet

literally for Vladimir Putin in Alaska last year. You see the symmetry there, right? And with Democrats

indulging their endemic bipolar disorder, one day bubbling over with delight over Trump's admission

that he doesn't give any thought

whatsoever to the financial strains and economic pressures. His war in Iran is imposing on ordinary

Americans and expressing certainty those Democrats that this gaff will be the thing that brings down

MAGA. And then the next day, absolutely freaking out about how the U.S. Supreme Court's abominable

gutting of the Voting Rights Act and the Virginia Supreme Court's invalidation of that state's

recent mid-decade redistricting plan may snatch victory from the jaws of defeat for Democrats

in the November midterm elections and, and with the calendar overflowing with critical primaries in the days and weeks ahead,

this seemed like a perfect time to have Dan back to discuss all of that and more.
