Mexican President Claudia Shinebaum and President Donald Trump said they reached an agreement

to pause tariffs for a month starting today and struck a deal on security and trade.

And then to work together on the two issues, on safety and on fentanyl, and also to the fact that he would review the issue

of arms trafficking from the United States to Mexico.

Mexico committed to immediately reinforce the border with 10,000 National Guard members

that Trump said are meant to stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigrants into the U.S.

This comes after Trump announced on Saturday that sweeping tariffs on most imports would go

into effect tomorrow for two U.S. allies and an adversary if demands on balancing out trade

and stopping illegal migration and fentanyl trafficking aren't met.

That's 25% on Mexico and Canada and 10% on China.

But Trump's White House Economic Advisor left the door open this morning to Trump potentially

canceling the tariffs after his conversations with Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau later

today.

But that's a big if.
