We're two weeks into President Donald Trump's second term, and Democrats are beginning

to organize their response to his barrage of executive orders and administrative shakeups.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries told his members today that he plans to prioritize

canceling the White House's effort to freeze cash for federal

programs, calling the effort, quote, illegal. That's likely to spark a massive fight with the

administration as the March 14th government funding deadline approaches. Jeffreys also told

members that the party will fight in the courts, with at least 20 different lawsuits challenging

more than a dozen executive

actions. So President Trump has paused his tariffs on Mexico and is in talks to do the same with

Canada. The tariffs were expected to take effect tomorrow and included a 25% duty on all imports

for Mexico and most goods from Canada. CNN's Elizabeth Buchwald explains exactly which goods you have an extra month to buy before they could cost a lot more.
