The main office of the U.S. Agency for International Development in Washington was unexpectedly closed

this morning.

Sources say workers were emailed shortly after midnight that they shouldn't come in.

It comes after days of speculation over USAID's future, as its funding was frozen and dozens

of employees were put on leave.

And this is just the latest ominous sign for the International Aid Agency, which has been

criticized by President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

And in an ex-spaces conversation,

Musk said Trump agrees that the agency needs to be shut down.

As we dug into USAID, it became apparent that what we have here is not an apple with a worm in it,

but we have actually just a bowl of worms.

The agency was created by Congress as an independent body, but Trump and his allies have accused it of being overly partisan and favorable to Democrats.

U.S. stock market futures have taken a plunge, as Trump's incoming tariffs spark fears

of a trade war.

Tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China are set to come into effect tomorrow,
