I welcome Mary Anastasia O'Grady, the America's columnist and editor for the editorial

I did not look close enough to understand that this is a catastrophe for the people of

Acapoco, but also is a realization of what Amlow, the very popular, very powerful one-term president of Mexico

has wrought these many years in transforming the Mexican government, the civil government,

into an extension of his power base using the military.

Mary, a very good evening to you, your description of the hurricane is shocking.

I had no idea it was this powerful. It blew through

a cappoco which you note has already been troubled by the violence all around in the state of Mexico, northern Mexico.

But the damage to Acapoca was this unprecedented Mary.

I have no knowledge of hurricanes hitting Mexico anywhere close to this difficult hard.
