Summary

(Apologies in advance, something was up with the audio for this one) Now and then, I put out the call and feature a session with someone I’ve never worked with before. This work took place over the course of an hour or so, and we've shorted it here for easier listening. My guest today is someone who grew up in a hostile environment, and his end result as an adult was a feeling of numbness and a hard time recognizing the emotions he felt. We work to identify and give voice to what he's feeling, particularly his anger and sadness. I've wrestled with numbness too, and I'm sure there are a lot of guys out there in similar situations. So listen in and don't forget to share with someone you feel might benefit from this kind of work. Did you enjoy the podcast? And today is one of those special episodes where I will be interviewing and working with an anonymous

guest. Now, this individual had experienced a good amount of hardship in his childhood. Physical abuse

0:30.1

and verbal abuse grew up in a pretty hostile environment and has come on the show to work through a little bit of it because

0:40.9

it started to affect his marriage, his parenting. And so as you'll hear in this interaction,

0:46.9

I gather a little bit of data, a little bit of information around what he's going through.

0:52.0

And you'll probably notice that I make a bit of an assessment around what's happening

0:56.2

and guide him in a very specific direction of being able to use his voice, being able to

1:01.8

connect with his own anger, connect with his own power, his own experience, his own voice,

1:08.0

and create a situation, a scenario where he's able to express that voice, where he's

1:12.9

able to use that power in a way where it was dangerous and threatening for him as a child.

1:20.1

So just a note before we dive in, there was something going on with my audio today that we've

1:25.5

sorted out. So I apologize in advance.

1:28.3

Maybe you'll notice.

1:44.9

Maybe you won't notice, but there's a little bit of variance happening in the background of my audio occasionally. So I apologize for that in advance. But enjoy this podcast. Let me know what you thought. DM me on Instagram at Man Talks. Let me know if you enjoyed this interview. I'm going to have more of these coming around specific topics like quitting porn, dealing with anxiety, ADHD. And so if there's specific topics that

1:51.7

you'd like to hear that you'd like me to cover, then again, message me and let me know. And we will

1:56.3

dive into that subject matter. All right. Enjoy this. And don't forget to man it forward.

Share this episode with somebody that you think would benefit from it, would get something out of

him. So here we go. All right, my friend, Mr. Anonymous guest, how are you doing today?

Pretty good. How about you? Good, man, good. I appreciate you jumping on and being part of this conversation. I think this is going to be
