Today, I'm going to answer the question. Is business harder for people of color? Yes. The answer is

unequivocally yes. And I'll break down why. But I also want to get into the question,

is it a bad thing? Is a harder road to success a bad thing? I've been in the game for a very

long time, and as a person of color, I've seen both sides. The invisible walls, the subtle

doubts, the assumptions. And I also see the pride, the hustle, the creativity that comes

from not having it easy. I grew up in an immigrant family. Parents immigrated from Egypt to

the U.S. and I grew up looking different. I had a strange last name. People didn't know what I was.

Am I Mexican? Am I Indian? You know, they just had no idea. And always something I had to explain to

people before they can even get to know me. Even as a child, this has been a challenge as a person

of color. But today, I'm going to go there.

I'm talking about business and is it harder for people of color to be in business and to grow

and be successful in business? And yes, it is. And I'm going to prove it to you. But I'm also

going to explain why I'm okay with that. I'm okay with the fact that it is harder. Let's get

into it.
