sword and scale daily true crime headlines. Ashley Parmaly, a 36 year old mother out of Jefferson County, Missouri, is facing murder charges in both the drowning and shooting deaths of her two children, just outside of St. Louis.

A verdict in the case of Ali Abulaban, the former Tiktalker standing trial for the death of his wife and an old acquaintance.

Convicted killer Scott Peterson was back in the courtroom yesterday in a bid to get a new trial.

And in South Dakota, the former mayor of a small tight-knit town

was arrested this week and charged with three counts of murder.

All of this

on earlier this week on Monday, May 27th at around 1030 a.m.

a woman walked into a police station at 100 Park Avenue in Festus, Missouri.

Before officers could even address the woman's disheveled appearance,

she told authorities she had just murdered her two children.

The deranged mother, soon to be actually, she had just murdered her two children.

The deranged mother, soon to be identified as 36-year-old Ashley Parmley,

told police that she had shot her nine-year-old daughter

and drowned her two-year-old son.

Officers immediately ran outside to where the suspect's vehicle is parked.

Inside that Mazda SUV, they found the nine-year-old girl slumped over with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Despite administering life-saving measures upon discovery of the little girl, it was

unfortunately far too late and she was pronounced dead a short time later. A handgun,

believed to be the murder weapon, was quickly located inside the vehicle and

secured. Meanwhile, neighboring authorities were already in route rushing to a second scene where the mother told police they could find her son.

That location was a holiday inn, Timber Creek Resort, roughly 12 miles away.
