1:07.2	So we talked about how Matthew is presenting Jesus as the new Moses to the Jews, basically making a foundation that convincing the Jews that Jesus is the Messiah, not only to them, but to the entire world.
1:31.0	And Matthew makes sure he portrays Jesus on this mountain, giving revelation and giving
1:39.1	understanding that was comparable to the revelation that Moses was getting when he was on the Mount.
1:48.3	But although Jesus is greater than Moses, because he is leading the people of God out of sin,
1:55.9	not just out of the geographical location of Egypt.
2:00.6	So let's continue on in Matthew chapter 5, verse 1.
2:06.8	Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he set down, his disciples came to him.
2:14.3	And he opened his mouth and taught them saying,
2:16.9	Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the
2:20.0	kingdom of heaven blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted blessed are the meek for
2:27.3	they shall inherit the earth blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness
2:32.4	for they shall be satisfied.
2:35.8	Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
2:41.0	Blessed are the pure and heart, for they shall see God.
