This week I'm excited to share with you an interview with Michael Schulteis.

Michael is an artist living in Seattle and he has a very interesting back story.

His concentration for both his undergraduate and graduate degrees were in math, economics, and

econometrics at Cornell.

He took his knowledge to Microsoft, where he worked as a programmer.

And then one morning on his way to work, Michael had an epiphany while listening to Terry Gross interview and artist on the radio.

That interview was his tipping point, and eventually he left programming to teach himself

Michael has blended his mathematics with art

and storytelling with truly fascinating results.

As he describes it, he expands the definition of geometric art with a process called analytical expressionism,

which is the conceptual rendering of geometry through the elegant and eloquent visual language
