Here in your words, tell us a little bit about yourself.

Well, I've been teaching about wilderness survival and outdoor skills for over 20 years now. It's been really a lifelong passion of mind.

I'm the co-founder of Aldereleaf Wilderness College where we've been running wilderness skills courses for the last 16 years.

I worked at other outdoor schools and worked as a wildlife

biologist before that. And one of our main courses have been training folks to be teachers

at other wilderness survival schools around the country.

So we've had quite a few students come through our nine month courses,

but then now our big courses are weekend courses for the public

where anybody can come join and learn wilderness skills,

whether it be wildlife tracking or wild edible plants,

mushroom foraging or wilderness survival. We do a bunch of private trainings for a lot of groups,

like we do survival training for the Department of Ecology, Seattle Mountaineers, various groups, and we also have an online

course on survival skills as well. And now I have this book, which is something that folks have

been asking for for a long time. So there's a little bit about my background.

I worked at least, I worked as a wildlife biologist for a while,

did mountain lion studies for the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
