What's important about that storm is what didn't happen and this is what we have to celebrate,

not panic about the future. That storm was came from the sun spot that

was possibly the largest scene in more than two centuries and it produced a

solar flare that was at least more powerful than one we've seen in two decades at least.

So this was a really big storm and it happened to be a car so that it pointed right at the Earth

and produced a geomandang storm that hit the earth.

This is the thing that people have been fearing for almost 30 years.

Back in the late 80s there was a solar storm, not anywhere near as powerful, that knocked out electrical

systems in Canada for hours and hours and hours.

And for several decades, especially in the 90s, there was great concern that the

electrical grid and the satellite systems and the technology

society were in was not prepared for a big solar storm. And so they spent the last three decades

preparing for this kind of thing.

And so the story last week was what did not happen.

We got a great, uh, great fireworks display of Aurora, but in terms of our
