had landed very

prematurely, almost like one quarter of the distance was supposed to travel. And therefore it

landed in a place that wasn't supposed to land in. They apparently did have some

communications with it, but it's very important that it landed a spot where it has line of sight contact with perseverance because perseverance is the relay satellite essentially.

Communications are relayed through perseverance.

If it doesn't have line of sight, there's no communications.

In fact, we had that situation in May and June of last year there were no communications because the
