What is going on, everybody? Derek Pousa here back with my wife Jordan for day three

of the Stand for Your Marriage Challenge. Today is going to be a very important one because

there isn't a single person who can hear the sound of my voice that doesn't deal with emotions.

And then what emotions do, which is

they govern things and they inform actions and decisions. A lot of times there is either great

pride or great shame and condemnation concerning emotions and the fruit that they have produced

inside of a marriage and that only crescendos and grows

in greater capacity as we are standing for our marriage because there's more gravity and weight

on the line and we constantly feel either backed in a corner or rate up against some sort of

self-imposed deadline whether it's the, whether it's decisions about life, relocating

children, family relationships. It seems like there's always something pressed aside from

righteousness and glorification. We have to be so careful because our emotions always lead to

something, right? They're going to lead to an action. They have so much power and they hold power. So today we're

going to work through how to not be governed by them to the place to where they become our master

and they are informing and causing unrighteous things that our body is not living out what our

soul is in agreement with. Remember your mind will, will, and emotions are in your soul.

And that being defiled things and things that are not of God and don't bring glory to his name.

So there's something that my wife always brings up inside of masterclasses and coaching.

And the first time she revealed it to me, I had already read this scripture like a ton of times, and I

always glossed over this part. And she just kept saying this one phrase that stood out to her. And I was like,

wow. And so ever since then, it really becomes just even Jesus himself recognized the effect that

emotions have and the contrast between somebody who's governed by their emotions
