#319. Markus Norlin is the son of famous Swedish yacht designer Peter Norlin, who's illustrious career indeed included our own boat SPICA, a 1977 Norlin 34 mk 2. Markus came out to the farm to 'Mission Control' where we discussed his late father's career as a yacht designer, growing up in a sailing family, and his 'rescue' of one of his dad's most famous boats, AGNES, a one-off 37-footer built in mahogany and successfully raced in the USA. Markus found the boat in Vancouver, bought it, and had it shipped back to Sweden where he now sails it with his family.

0:00.0	Greetings, friends. Welcome back to another episode of On the Wind. I'm your host, Andy Schell. It's another
0:05.2	beautiful winter day here in Sweden, Tuesday, February 16th. And my winter is just about over.
0:11.7	I'm heading back to Antigua on Friday, although with all the COVID travel interruptions, I have
0:19.1	quite a long journey to get there. Normally, we can fly direct from Stockholm back to New York. Well, I have quite a long journey to get there. Normally we can fly direct from
0:21.7	Stockholm back to New York. Well, I've got to go Stockholm to Paris, then Paris to JFK. I've got to spend
0:28.2	the night in the hotel at the airport at JFK and then down to Antigua on Saturday. So it's going to
0:34.1	be quite the journey to get there. But Nikki Henderson is there already, has been
0:38.3	working on the boat for the last couple weeks. I'm going to join her for the last week. We're
0:42.6	actually going to do some sailing together. Pat Walters from Radio Lab is coming down to do some
0:48.4	sailing with us. He and I grew up in the same town, although never actually met each other.
0:53.1	So lots of exciting stuff coming up,
0:55.2	though I am admitting I'm going to miss the winter in Sweden. It's been spectacularly cold and
0:59.9	nice. And I found a group of people in Ann Sheping where we live, and we've been doing these
1:04.4	ice swims. So if you follow us on Instagram, you can see we've been taking axes,
1:09.2	cutting holes in the ice, and going for swims. It's been
1:12.4	really cool, a nice kind of fun outdoor winter activity and certainly makes you feel alive.
1:17.6	So this is the first episode that we recorded in the new Mission Control, our converted shipping
1:22.6	container that I use as my, I jokingly call it my adult fort because it feels more, it feels more like a fort
1:28.1	than an office. It's a great place that I can get out of the house and do some work. I've got a little
1:33.2	wood stove out there. And some really nice oak furniture from Copenhagen. I'm going to play a
1:37.9	quick little interview that I did with Martin from True North Designs, who very graciously donated
