Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge cycling podcast. The first time we've used the webcams and we're

0:05.6

trying to make the video with our faces in it. Requested in the award show because people wanted to

0:11.6

see Benji's shock at my hot takes. Some of them are regrett now in hindsight after hearing your

0:18.1

reasoned comments. Everybody in the YouTube comments particularly about my insanity. Some of them

0:23.8

might actually think I'm justified. But today we're here to talk about Mark Cavendish

0:29.5

signing for Quick Step. Benji is the man in the ground on the ground in Belgium. So I assume

0:36.4

you got told several weeks ago. How big Benji are Quick Step in the public discourse in Belgium?

0:44.7

Are they really popular? Maybe the same way. I feel like younger are really really popular in

0:50.4

Netherlands. Borough of the German fans really get behind. Borough, Hans Greys,

0:56.2

I presume he's not the same with the König. I guess so. We've got basically the best Belgian team out

it's a very international team now. But I do feel like the Belgian aspect to it plays a role.

1:20.8

I'm definitely with the likes of it. I'm quave in the pool now hitting the high notes and

1:25.4

just Belgians coming to the fore throughout it. That obviously improves their reputation. But

1:31.3

yeah, I think that the König in general is just a team that brings people together in Belgium as well.

1:39.2

But there's also a healthy tone of people that dislike the König. In the sense that

1:44.2

they're in the news so much that it becomes annoying sometimes for a lot of people. We had that

1:48.6

with Tom Bohnen in the past where Tom Bohnen came in the news so much that everybody who spoke to

1:54.0

was like eyes in the news already, but he's not making results in the years where he wasn't.

1:58.4

And as a consequence, it's not overly great for their reputation. But yeah, in general,

2:04.7

I do have a feeling that Belgium, the feeling towards the König is great. The feeling towards
