It is the 25th anniversary of Mariah Carey's classic album Butterfly,

and she's got an expanded edition out with a ton of really great extras.

And this is going to be a very special episode because we have a super extensive and hopefully fascinating interview with Mariah Carey herself.

She tells me a million revealing and funny stories about

the Making a Butterfly, but because of how deep this album goes for her, we're really talking about

a whole lot more. As she discusses in her great book, The Meaning of Mariah Carey,

Butterfly came, of course, at a very pivotal moment.

She was in the middle of separating from her then husband, Tommy Matola,

who was also the head of her record label. So there were all sorts of complications there.
