Hi, friends. I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.

Each month, we are going to read all four books. We did it in January, we did it in February, and now we're doing March.

So we're reading the Gospels in chronological order. That means we're going to read the Gospels stories in the order that they happen.

So we're going to jump around in all four books every day. It also means that when a story appears in more than one of the Gospels, I'm going to read all those accounts on the same day.

Getting to see the different details and observations each of these Gospels writers include is really interesting.

So today is March 2nd, day 2. And I will be reading Luke 139 through 80, Matthew 1, 18 through 25, Luke 2, 1 through 40, and Matthew 2.

Today is all about Jesus's birth and his first years. The translation I'm reading from this month is the new living translation.

Day 2 in chronological order. Mary visits Elizabeth. A few days later, Mary hurried to the hill country of Judea to the town where Zachariah lived.

She entered the house and greeted Elizabeth at the sound of Mary's greeting Elizabeth's child leaped within her and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, God has blessed you above all women and your child is blessed. Why am I so honored that the mother of my Lord should visit me?
