First, we're joined by Dr. Paul Hosmer.

He is chairman and associate professor of physics here at Hillsdale College.

Dr. Hosmer, thanks for joining us.

Thank you for having me.

Teaching physics through the founding fathers. A very interesting angle on this. You've done a

presentation in the past and also incorporated some of this work in classes here at Hillsdale.

How did you come to the realization that there was this potential avenue to explore in your

teaching? Well, I think it came about gradually. I was teaching an honors

seminar, just the basic liberal arts tradition honors seminar. And so it was my first chance to

actually talk a little bit or read a little bit about philosophy and politics to students as opposed

to physics. And I was just amazed at how on fire the students were about the topics of politics and physics.
