33-year-old social worker, Sylvia Brachamonte, was killed on Friday afternoon after allegedly

being stabbed by an 18-year-old man that she was trying to help.

The suspect, Anderson Canone's cabezza, was arrested at the scene and has of Wednesday

has yet to be arraigned.

Brachamonte, who focused on assisting young adults who were homeless or in risk of becoming

homeless, ran a group home in downtown Kotati.

The suspect was a resident at the home.

Brachamonte was herself, homeless as a young adult, before changing her life around.

A native of Santa Rosa, Brachamonte became involved with drugs and gangs as a teen and dropped

out of high school at 16.
