with the murder of her 11 year old son.

The execution of Texas death row inmate John William Hummel has been stayed due to coronavirus

concerns.

Finally, a former MMA fighter, already charged with a double murder in Texas, was indicted

for a 2009 Minnesota murder.

The Mississippi Claire in Ledger reports that 34-year-old Latina Marie Oates was taken into custody

on Wednesday morning by the Louisiana State Police.

She will be extradited back to Mississippi to face a first-degree murder charge in the death

of her 11-year-old son, Joshua Oates, whose body was discovered in a Mississippi hotel

on Tuesday.

Oates and her children are from Powell, Ohio.

The investigation began on Tuesday when Joshua Oates' body was found inside a room at the

Hampton Inn in Laurel, Mississippi.

Surveillance footage from the hotel showed Oates leaving the hotel on Tuesday morning with

her 9-year-old son, Mark, and her 6-year-old son, Justin.

Oates believed that the children may have been in imminent danger and thought Oates may

be on her way to Louisiana.
