killing his mother during an argument and leaving her body in her home to be discovered

days later.

The pastor of a Houston mega-church has pled guilty to wire fraud charges and connection

with his role in a multi-million dollar investment scam.

Finally, in Los Angeles, the trial of eccentric real estate sion Robert Durst has been halted

due to public health concerns.

The Des Moines Register reports that 32-year-old Christopher Thompson has been charged with first

degree murder in connection with the death of his mother, 50-year-old Paula Thompson.

Police officers discovered Paula Thompson's body at approximately 12.30 pm on Wednesday,

March 18th.

Police recalled for a welfare check at her Des Moines home.

Soon after, the Des Moines Police Department announced they were searching for Christopher

who was described as a, quote, potential witness to the crime.

Christopher Thompson turned himself in a law enforcement officer's at Polk County

jail at 3.30 pm that afternoon.

He was transferred to a police station where he was questioned.

Police say that he confessed to murdering his mother during an argument.
