Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive into Exodus 39, verse 30.

I spent years feeling confused by the phrase,

Holiness to the Lord written at the entrance of every temple of

the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Dy Saints. It's a nice phrase, but I just, I didn't know what it

meant. I was pleasantly surprised then when I was reading Exodus one day, and I discovered the

ancient Israelites wrote that phrase on the head plates of the temple priests. Quote, and they made the plate of the holy

crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing like to the engravings of a signet,

holiness to the Lord. In Hebrew, holiness to the Lord is pronounced Kodesh la Yahweh. And again,

excuse my pronunciation. That first word Kodesh means something is set

apart or separate from the world. The second part, the Yahweh means to the Lord. So the temple is a

place set apart for the Lord. It's his house. It's not for wedding receptions. It's not for

basketball games. It's for his work only.

Could we put the words holiness to the Lord over our houses? Do we try to make ourselves and our

homes a place set apart from the world so the Lord could be comfortable there? So the takeaway of

the day in five words or less is, make your home holy.
