Last June, Target stock price and their sales at stores across the nation plummeted after

their so-called Pride Month line featured a brand that also sells Satanist

inspired merchandise. This June the national retail chain promised to scale back their celebrations to only select stores.

However, in a surprising move that would certainly have its founder turning over in his grave,

Walmart announced that they will now offer an expanded line of so-called

pride merchandise and acknowledgments. Now Christians can and should protest these

things, both with our voices and our pocketbooks.

At the same time, we've got something far better to offer.

And for the second year in a row, a former colleague and collaborator of Chuck Coulson's,

is proposing an idea that's definitely worth our consideration.

It was in an email last year that Professor Robert George of Princeton University wrote, and I quote,

by the authority vested in me by absolutely no one I have declared June to be Fidelity

Month a month dedicated to the importance of Fidelity to God to spouses and families to our country

and to our communities.

Perhaps the leading Christian legal thinker of our lifetime, Professor George, worked closely

with Colson and with Dr. Timothy George to produce the Manhattan Declaration, a 2009 statement of Christian conviction on the areas of life, marriage, and religious liberty.

So it only makes sense that Professor George would suggest the month of June as a proper time to remember our essential allegiances

that are so often scorn in a culture like ours. Pride is of course a deadly

sin according to the Bible, one that prioritizes desire and autonomy over allegiance to God,
