Hi, this is Josh Marshall and this is the Josh Marshall podcast with Kate Riga. We had, as you've seen,

this series finale of Caucus, the new streaming episode that we were so into, you've seen it now,

you've got this guy, Mike Johnson, who's the new speaker of the house, and it's pretty wild

because sort of like Denny Hasdard had this kind of like kids table position in the leadership,

but not really like in the leadership in the sense that people usually talk about it,

never share to committee or I think even a subcommittee. So pretty, pretty new on the block

guy and now he's the speaker of the house. And as we talked about in some of the recent episodes,

you know, one of the big things the speaker does, speaker raises money. That is almost a central

role of the modern speakership. And this guy's basically raised no money at all. Again, he's not

in the leadership, he's not a big committee chair, something like that. Now we're going to get into

all of this speaker drama a lot that we've had even since our delayed last week episode.

But there's one thing before we get to Kate, who's been up there and covering this in person
