Summary

The religious leaders are lobbing accusations at Jesus in Luke 6:1-11 because He isn’t following Sabbath rules and regulations as they think He should. Today, in much the same way, we often impose our own ideas and traditions on how we should observe the Sabbath and follow God’s commandments. As we study, we look into the purpose of the Sabbath, why and how we should keep it, and how imposing our own dogmas over it can lead us away from God’s intentions.

0:00.0	If you'd allow me this morning, I'm gonna pick it up right where we left off on Wednesday
0:03.6	and just kind of keep going. Chapter 6 is a loaded chapter with all kinds of important stuff.
0:08.7	And I don't want to just kind of glance through it. So I'm going to sort of, if you'd allow me,

0:22.2	We left off Wednesday where Jesus had had a clash already with the Pharisees. Now the Pharisees
0:29.7	and the lawyers of the Pharisees, they were all there, not just the guys from Galilee or even
0:35.7	just Judea, but the bigwigs are there now from Jerusalem.
0:39.9	And there was an event that kind of put Jesus on the map
0:43.3	as far as the big head honchos down in Jerusalem.
0:46.3	They're now piling into the little area of Galilee
0:49.4	because they want to accuse him.
0:52.0	They want to find something wrong with them

1:01.9	And I believe we miss this as Gentiles in the, you know, in 2023.
1:05.0	What made the Pharisees from Jerusalem come?
1:09.7	It says in chapter 5, verse 17, it came to pass on a certain day as he was teaching that there was Pharisees and doctors
1:11.9	of the law sitting by, which were come from every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem.
1:18.5	Those are the bigwigs, man. These are the head honchos. They're all out now to find fault
1:22.6	with Jesus. And that's what we're going to see. We're going to see several clashes with these guys
