All right we're in Romans chapter 12 and yesterday I introduced this list to you.

It is a listing of behaviors and attitudes that we as Christ followers are to have if we are to

represent Christ well.

And again, don't hear this as a list you have to live up to in your own strength.

This is something we need the Spirit of God to do through us and in us.

So we're going to start today looking at the qualities and characteristics listed here one at a time

because we need to dig into these to understand exactly what the apostle Paul is talking about so that when we see

them on our particular version of this list to remind ourselves we're able to

understand what it is we're really thinking about. Now let's start in verse number nine, where the

apostle Paul says let love be genuine. Now when I think about the word genuine, I

remember as a kid I had a ball glove and it was

a spalding I believe was the brand and it had stamped there in the leather

genuine leather. What does that mean? Well it means it's not imitation, it's not

some sort of a man-made material in that case. It is the real thing. It is made from cow skin, it is the absolute real thing when it comes to
