Smith and Callie Black. Hey, it's Callie Black here with today's thought. Let's open up to Exodus

17, verse 12. Watching someone you love go through a tough trial is so hard to watch. When I dealt with this recently, I started praying

for how I could somehow solve this person's problems so that they weren't in so much pain.

But the impression that kept returning to my mind was, this is their trial to deal with.

What you can do is support and love and lift. I have taken that to heart.

I cannot take away the trial, the pain or the heartache, but I can love, support, and lift this person through little acts

of service, communication, heart-to-heart conversations, and prayers.

When Moses raised his hands in prayer to help the Israelites win their first battle in the wilderness,

my heart is so touched as I read the details in Exodus

chapter 17 verse 12. But Moses's hands were heavy. And they took a stone and put it under him,

and he sat thereon. And Aaron and Her stayed up his hands, the one on the one side and the other on the other side,

and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. Two friends, one of them a brother,

stayed by Moses's side until the sunset.

They couldn't take away the heavy task given to Moses of holding his hands raised in prayer.

But they knew that they could be there to love, support, and lift.

So, the takeaway of the day, in five words or less,

love, support, and lift.
