Hey, it's Callie Black, here with today's thought. Let's open up to Numbers Chapter 14,

verses 2 and 3. The Israelites were really good at looking at their outside circumstances. When they looked at what they had

physically been through, there was a lot to complain about. In fact, in Numbers chapter 14,

verse 2 and 3, we read, would God that we had died in the land of Egypt? Or would God we had

died in this wilderness? Were it not better for us to

return into Egypt? They had endured so much since leaving Egypt, so wouldn't it have been better to

endure the hard things they had to face in Egypt? And it's easy for me to only look at my outside circumstances too. If I followed

the commandments, why did I not get the job I wanted? Or why am I enduring complicated things? But this

isn't what God wants us to look at to measure the success of our life, right? He wants us to switch to a

heart and soul perspective.

Have our hearts slowly been getting softer? More obedient, kinder, more service-oriented?

Our outside journeys don't matter nearly as much as the journey our heart has been on.

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less, focus on the heart.
