Welcome to One Minute Scripter Study, a Come Follow Me podcast. We are your host, Kristen Walker

Smith and Kelly Black. Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive in to Numbers 21

0:14.0

versus 5 and 8. The book of numbers glosses over an important part of Israelite history

0:20.0

that we get more details about

0:21.3

from the Book of Mormon. The Israelites had once again started complaining about their hunger

0:25.4

and thirst, and the scriptures say they, quote, spoke against God and against Moses. In response,

0:32.2

the Lord sent an Egyptian-style plague to straighten them out, venomous serpents. The people came to Moses and begged

0:39.2

him for a solution, quote, and the Lord said unto Moses, make thee a fiery serpent and set it upon a

0:45.0

pole, and it shall come to pass that everyone that is bitten when he looketh upon it shall live.

0:50.7

Now, Moses's brass serpent was the simplest possible solution. Just looking at it would save the Israelites from being killed by the serpent's venom. 1:12.3

just turning their heads and opening their eyes, they chose to die. It is unbelievable. But do we

1:19.7

ever do the same? Do you and I resist any of the simple commandments we've received because we don't

1:24.8

think they'll save us? Do we resist saying personal prayers,

1:28.4

having family home evening, or reading the scriptures? Because as the Israelites learned,

1:33.3

sometimes it's the simplest things that save us. So the takeaway of the day in five words or less

1:39.1

is, don't ignore simple solutions. Thanks so much for being here today and for coming closer to Christ

1:46.3

with me one minute at a time. Hey parents, how confident are you that your kids know how to

1:54.2

recognize the Holy Ghost or get an answer to prayer or to know what to do if they don't get an

1:59.4

answer to prayer? I created a 30-day study

2:02.3

guide called Hear Him that you can do as a family or have your kids do on their own or do on

2:07.8

your own and it teaches all about how to recognize and receive more revelation. It's a game changer.

2:14.2

And since you're a loyal podcast listener, I'm giving you 20% off the Hear Him study
