Another obstacle in the Menendez Brothers potential road to freedom.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hockman said this week,

he's asking the court to withdraw the previous DA's motion for resentencing for Eric and Lyle Menendez,

calling the brother's self-defense claims a litany of lies.

Our position is that they shouldn't get out of jail.

Now, ultimately, that is a position.

We bring that position to the court.

The court can agree with it.

The court can disagree with it or modify it in some respect.

But Hockman says his office is prepared to go forward with the hearings on March 20th and 21st

regarding resentencing the case.

The brothers are serving life without the possibility of parole for the 1989 shotgun murders of their parents. They claim their father had been sexually abusing them and

they feared for their lives. D.A. Hachman says that's just one of the many lies that brothers have told.

Governor Gavin Newsom is separately considering a clemency petition for the case.
