Hello and welcome to a special afternoon stream where me and Aaron are going to pour over the pretty momentous election results from last night.

This isn't replacing Navarra Live this evening. We'll be doing that as well with more results and especially sort of lots of reaction.

We're not going to show you any clips for this. This is just results. Aaron Bustani and myself.

And we'll bring up some detailed results in a moment.

I suppose the big takeaway is that reform won the Runkorn by election by six votes.

Kirstama didn't turn up, by the way.

So there are questions if he had bothered.

Maybe those six extra people would have turned out.

Of the five mayoral races that have so far declared reform comfortably won, one of them,

Labor very uncomfortably held free, and the Tories won one from Labour,

and we'll go through some of the council elections as well.

Good for reform at the moment, it seems.

Your initial takeaways, Aaron, what do our viewers need to know?

These are the most, I think, significant local election results in decades, in decades.

And that is with many, many authorities having cancelled their elections for this year

because of merging of authorities, getting

rid of authorities, the Labour devolution programme. Notwithstanding that, even with the paired back

elections we've seen utterly extraordinary, Mike, I think what sticks out for me is the West

of England, which is on paper one of the most progressive parts of the country. You know, this is part of the country. If you look at the general election map of the last

two elections, really, it's, you know, Labor, Green, Lib Dem, Aaron Banks, you know, the most right

wing figure imaginable in the Reform Party, heavily Farage-Coded, came within 2% of winning that.

They came second.
