I'm Gretchen Ribbon and this is a little happier.

The other day I was talking to a friend and she was telling me about a conversation she'd

had with her husband.

Now my friend is somebody who loves to cook and she cooks dinner for her family just about

every night.

But she was telling me how annoyed she got with her husband because whenever she asked

him, you know, hey, what would you like me to make for dinner, he always gave the same

answer.

Oh, I don't care.

Everything you make is good.

And I said to my friend, wait, that's not a good answer because that sounds like a good

answer to me.

He likes everything you cook.

And she said, no, I would be so much happier if he would say something like, won't you

make your special spaghetti and meatballs or tonight will you make my favorite dinner

of, you know, smoked salmon?

And it's funny because on the one hand, it seemed like it was better to just say you're

happy with everything she cooked.

But I understand where she was coming from.

And how it was more satisfying if he would say something about her fantastic spaghetti and

meatballs.

And we were talking about it.
