Now, if you've been to Vancouver, you know that fish and chip shops and fish counters are basically a dime a dozen.

Some better than others.

But there's a really important lesson that I learned from a specific fish counter in Vancouver.

So I ordered from this place and it was rammed. It was lunchtime. It was packed.

People were everywhere you know they're slinging fish and

you know chip fish and chips are coming out there's like a line out the door and

you know I got mine to go so I remember I'm waiting around you know I'm not paying

a minute much attention to everything that's going on because pretty much

mayhem and finally you know I hear my name called Travis and I go and I pick up my

order and as I'm walking out I just yell hey thank you you know appreciate it like I

tend to do typically when I'm leaving places and I remember the guy and I believe

he was the owner there's only like two people there, they were working hard.

And I just remember hanging out, thank you, Travis, hope to see you again.

Now saying thank you, hope to see you again, isn't that big of a deal, but saying thank you, Travis, hope to see you again is.

And I remember stopping in my tracks and thinking, this guy has 50 people around he's working his butt off he's you know

slinging fish slinging chips you know all types of stuff and somehow you know as you my name, he saw me come and pick up my bag, probably out of the corner of the

I, he was present enough to realize what my name was and then use my name when he was thanking me.

And ever since that moment, I have made it an effort

no matter where I am if I'm walking to a Home Depot,

if I'm going in the post office,

if I'm at a restaurant wherever I am to try to find out that person's name
