One of my first real travel experiences happened when I moved to Switzerland, on the banks of Lake Geneva…a lake I’d get to know very well!

Why I jumped in a lake every single day for four months?

So I had just moved to Switzerland for an internship

and this was the very first time

that I was spending an extended period of time abroad and I was an intern and

my buddy's the three other guys who were interns who were making no money but

we did have an absolutely incredible chateau on a vineyard that was completely compt for us,

and it was directly across the street from Lake Geneva.

And so the very first day I got there was in summer.

And so everyone was out at the lake and swimming

and having an awesome time.

And I remember the very first time I ran off that dock and jumped in that lake and I thought oh my gosh this is

bliss this is beautiful and I floated on my back and I was just looking up at the Alps all around me looking across to France looking back towards

Switzerland and thinking there is not a prettier place in this world. And so every day after work I would come down and I would jump into the lake.

And of course in the beginning it was summer.

It was August so it was great and then September came still kind of warm.

October started to get fairly cold,

and that's when everyone else stopped going down to the lake.

It was getting cold, you know, it wasn't summer anymore.

And I remember sitting there thinking,

I have no idea when I will ever be back here again.
