Our scriptural text today comes from the ninth chapter of the gospel according to Dr. Luke,

chapter 9, verse 51 through 56, reading from the new living translation of the scriptures.

And there you'll find these words.

As the time drew near for him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out

for Jerusalem. He sent messengers ahead to a Samaritan village to prepare for his arrival.

But the people of the village did not welcome Jesus because he was on his way to Jerusalem.

When James and John saw this, they said to the Lord, they said, Jesus, Lord, we should call down fire from heaven to burn them up.

Should we do that?

But Jesus turned and rebuked them, so they went on to another village.

I want to talk today from the subject, life beyond rejection. Life. Life beyond rejection.

You go some places and you'll discover that you won't be rejected

you won't be received rather you'll be rejected and you wonder why is it that i'm i'm being

rejected but there is life beyond rejected now if it happened to Jesus, if he went to a place and they rejected

him, who do we think that we are? That we won't ever deal with rejection. And oftentimes,

you can realize that God will have done you a favor because he let you get rejected

by something good because he had something best for you in mind. And if you had been accepted in what

was good, then you would have forfeited what was best for you.

And so there is life beyond rejection.

Jesus didn't sit down on the sidewalk and start sucking his thumb and start having a pity party, wondering what's wrong with me.

The Bible says, so they went on to another

village. It didn't work out right here, so they went on to another village. Sometimes,

you have to be able to find your life beyond where you are. But the Bible here says that
