Okay, we'll go ahead and get started. And when we get started, we're going to be picking

up at the beginning of Leviticus chapter 9.

Last time, we talked about how here, some of the material we're reading here in the

beginning of Leviticus, the narrative parts. We talk about how there's

narrative parts of Leviticus. They're sort of continuing the story of what's going on with Israel

in the wilderness. And then there are sort of chunks of instructions. And we're going to see in a

little while, not tonight, but in a few weeks. Actually, next year. We're going to see next year. There's also going to see in a little while, not tonight, but in a few weeks, actually next year.

There's also going to be sort of commandments that aren't directly liturgic related to liturgical instructions like we've been reading.

And so we got back into last time back into a narrative portion describing what's going on with Israel the wilderness.

And we talked about how some of these narrative portions sort of overlap with things we read

at the end of Exodus in the sense that there were instructions given at the end of Exodus

and now we're reading in the narrative about them carrying out those instructions.

So last time,

we had already read near the end of Exodus the instructions for the ordination of Aaron and his sons as the high priest and the priests. And then last time in chapter 8, we read about

them following those instructions and actually ordaining them as priests.

Now, as we get into chapter nine, we're going to be reading about, well, now they're ordained,

and they're told, right, now you begin your service, you're going to remain in the tabernacle

courts here for the next week, fulfilling your duties.

That's what we're now going to launch into here in chapter 9.
