Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump turning on unions.

During the campaign, Trump portrayed himself as a strong advocate for labor and unions.

Many who remembered his first term were skeptical.

Days into his term, and Trump has removed the acting chair of the

National Labor Relations Board. She's a Democrat named Gwen Wilcox and was the NLRB's first black

woman board member. Jennifer Abruzzo, the General Counsel of the Labor Board, also got fired.

The terminations are of questionable legality.

It appears that under the law, board members can only be removed for neglect of duty or malfeasance.

Wilcox said she was looking at challenging her removal.

She said, quote, my term ends in August 2028. I believe that I

should still be able to be a board member and contribute to this country. In a separate statement,

she said, quote, I brought a unique perspective that I believe will be lost upon my unprecedented and illegal removal.

Throughout my time at the NLRB, I've worked well with my colleagues and the dedicated career

staff who uphold the mission of the agency.

I will be pursuing all legal avenues to challenge my removal, which violates longstanding Supreme Court precedent.

If her removal stands, Trump will be able to appoint two board members, presumably both Republicans,

and the NLRB will be more on the side of the bosses than the unions. Once the new board members are in place,

those aligned with the bosses will have the majority.

Because of how terms work at the NLRB,

union members who supported Trump won't have a find-out moment.

They'll have find-out years,
