So today, we're going to talk about Trump destroying half of Canadian

tourist visits. When Trump started his nonsense rhetoric about Canada becoming a state, calling the

Prime Minister governor, and started imposing tariffs on our ally.

Canadians did this weird thing. They stopped coming.

Tourism from Canada dropped like a rock. They felt unwelcome, so they didn't come anymore.

That was billions lost to the U.S. economy. I think the most conservative estimate was a loss of more than $4 billion per year.

When this started, one of the things I cautioned about was that if Trump didn't fix it soon,

the losses would be permanent.

A lot of Canadians come or came to set destinations in the U.S. year after year.

It was tradition for them, and a lot of communities counted on their business.

Some even have nicknames for them and cater to the snowbirds.

When they stopped coming, it was pretty clear that if Trump didn't find some way to undo the

damage he did before those tourists missed a second vacation, they wouldn't come back ever

because they would have established new traditions elsewhere.

Well, a new study took a look at cell phone data, and it quantified the drop-offs in tourism,

down to which cities are most heavily affected.
