Well, howdy there internet people, let's bow again.

So today we are going to talk about Russia and the moon

and a contest among the stars,

a little mini space race that is occurring right now.

So, the last time the Soviet Union went to the Moon was in 1976.

Russia has never been there.

Russia as a government has never been to the moon. The only governments that have landed on the moon are

the United States, China, and the Soviet Union.

Russia is attempting to do that right now, this minute, it is underway.

Landing is supposed to be around August 23rd. way. to land on the moon around August 23rd and it looks like they're both headed

to the South Pole. One of the big questions that that's at play is they're looking for they're looking for

frozen water they're looking for water ice is what's in all of the

reporting I'm assuming to differentiate from other

kinds of frozen material but they are looking for water ice which of course

would be incredibly important.

It would definitely advance

our reach to the stars stars so to speak.

And all of this is great,

and normally when we talk about anything

dealing with space,

it just kind of turns into a nerding out thing.

But this is different because this has real international implications.
